Zen Music has been in business for over 10 years and the first location is at East Brunswick central Jersey, and has developed over 1000 students; the second school Zen Music Institute is a newly opened music school located in the Mitsuwa Plaza (Japanese market) in Edgewater. A 3200 sf school with a large recital hall, and provides both music and art classes. The experienced faculty gives the children the best music education, to start music learning at the right way is the most important mission at Zen Music.

Stella Chiu
Originally from Taiwan, Stella Chiu served as the principal flutist of the North American Elite Orchestra in 1999. After studying at the National Taiwan Academy of Arts and Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China, she received her bachelor of music degree with cum laude at SUNY Purchase in orchestral performance and a master of music degree at New York University, School of Education. Winner of the Bach and Handel Competition, she was a member of the New York Youth Symphony Orchestra (flutist) and the New York Youth Chamber Music (pianist). Stella performed in Italy, China, Hong Kong, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, and recorded music for the Discovery Channel.
As the owner of Zen Music, Stella has been teaching for over 10 years and has over 40 students of all ages. She also teaches Music Theory and Aural Learning classes in preparation for the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) Exams. Many of her students pass the ABRSM exams with the honored Distinction and Merit classification.
Stella’s students have got accepted to the Juilliard School and won various competitions, including winning the Young Musician Showcase Competition at the Watchung Arts Center in 2005Crescendo Music Festival in 2009, 2011. As a member of the New Jersey Music Educators Association (NJMEA), she also has students which were selected in the New Jersey State and Regional bands.
