New Jersey Route 5 will have a modified west bound closure beginning on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 Monday through Friday 7:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. The westbound detour will require traffic to travel northbound on River Road/Main Street/Hudson Terrace (CR 505) to westbound on Bruce Reynolds Boulevard (a local roadway) to southbound Martha Washington Way (a local roadway) that turns into Palisades Avenue (a local roadway) to southbound Palisades Avenue (Route 67) that turns into Palisades Avenue (Route 5). The detour length in the westbound direction is approximately 3.7 miles. Truck detours will be permanent for the duration of the project and Route 5 may be utilized for Edgewater residents and local traffic only for access to both entries to Undercliff Avenue as well as the businesses.
